Six of Young Hollywood's brightest rising stars glamorously unwind poolside at the Hoolwyood Roosevelt Hotel.
THE HEAT IS ON
Who's got the heat? These six fine young things do. They may be posing as the leisurely set here. Chicly lounging away the summer days. But don't be fooled- the careers of these busy young hollwooders are burning up.
THE HOOLYWOOD ROOSEVELT HOTEL HAS A STORIED (AND STAR STUDDED)
Tinseletown history- the first ever Academy Awards were held there in 1929, Marilyn Monroe posed on the pool's diving board for her first magazine ad (for sunscreen, natch) and the ghost of Montgomery Clift, who stayed there during the making of From Here to Eternity, is said to haunt the halls. Today, celebs like Lindsay Lohan, Brusce Willis, Eva Longoria and Jake Gyllenhaal are regularly seen at the hotel's Topicana Bar, Teddy's lounge or Dakota restaurant. So, we thought, what better place to gather a sterling sextet of Young Holywood's brightest talents? Soon their names may rank up there with the hotel's most famous guest. Names like Jensen Ackles, who, after stealing scenes on the TV shows Dark Angel and Smallville, is now patrolling America's highways, winning hearts and vanquishing demons on CW's Thrusday night nit Supernatural. We'd love to seee his Dean Winchester face off against Candice Wilmer, the creepy shape-shifter on NBC's Hero's played by Missy Peregrym, who also altered perceptions as the lead in last year's gymnastics-themed surprise hit Stike It. Josh Henderson, who costarred in another of last year's beig-screen sleepers, Step Up, got a raw deal in that film as the cuckholded boyfriend, but is now enjoying his revenge, revving up his sex drive as Nicollette Sheridan's nephew on Desperate Housewives(and, in real life, as Paris Hilton's beau). Starting up her own engines is Emma Sone, one of the stars of the new FOX show Drive, about a group of people competing in an illegal cross-country road race (maybe she should keep an eye out for the Winchesters). We'll also see her this summer as geeky Janah Hill's love interest in the comedy Superbad, from the producers of the The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Amber Heard is similarly shifting between screens big and small with the tile role in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, a horror flick that picked up rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival (as well as a distribution deal with the Weinstein Company) and the CW's summer drama Hidden Palms, about a bunch of troubled teens living in Palm Spings. And Kevin Phillips, last seen alongside Queen Latifah in The Cookout, is no doubt at east poolside, having played a member of the swim team coached by Terrence Howard in the recent true-life tale Pride. As night falls, playtiome for this group is over. It's back to work, back to the Hollywood hustle. These rising thesps know that Young Hollywood is nothing if not competitive, and they are determined to succeed. We're rooting for them.
